On this episode of Power Players, sales expert Grant Cardone interviews the star of Million Dollar Listing New York, Ryan Serhant. The two discuss real estate in New York, how being a real estate broker is really about being a salesperson, and the idea of creating your own challenges to help move yourself to the next level up.

Some of today’s takeaways include:

*There are a lot of things you cannot control, but how hard you work isn’t one of them.

*Everything you do is a choice.

*Your passion has to pay the bills.

*Have as many balls in the air as possible because lots of them will drop, real estate is a numbers game.

*Never take a rejection personal.

*The old saying “Luck is when opportunity meets preparation” is true.

* You can’t negotiate with someone’s wallet, but you can negotiate with their feelings.

* Find balance on the seesaw between confidence and fear because you don’t want to be over-confident, but you can’t be a coward either.

* It’s better to regret the things you did rather than regret the things you never tried.
