  1. Ptfe hotend was the bane of my existence. I switched my ender 5 to an all metal hot end by creality. But had a bad thermistor after 10 hours of printing. Couldnt replace because it was an all in one system. So i upgraded to a mosquito and havnt had trouble since

  2. Check your nozzles at least every 2 or 3 days of continuous use, even the hardened steel ones wear down fast… doing this will help a lot ofmissues and keep those from starting even putt8ng on new silicone boots when they tear apart.

  3. Hi Angus, great video. My Bambu X1c just crapped out on me (heated sensor cable needs to be replaced). While trying to replace the cable I may have caused some damage to the plastic plug housing of the cable. I may or may not be able to get my X1C back into operable condition but we'll see. Anyway, can you do a video on the difficulty level of the repairs of various 3D printers which should be a major consideration for those getting into the hobby. I have used my 3D printer for a couple of years now and have done some repairs but the X1C seems to be very difficult to work on. (I already totaled a Bambu AMS when trying to repair and now my X1C may be ny latest blunder in my attempt to repair. It may be the best printer out there but if you can't get it fixed on your own you question whether to purchase another based on its level of difficulty to repair.

  4. If you use Micro SD cards to run your projects instead of a direct, wifi, bluetooth…don't rule out that low transfer speeds on a cheep SD cards may cause all kinds of issues that look like mechanical problems, like under extrusion for one.

  5. Dude my ankermake m5c has been ruining prints on the first layer for about a week now. The problems start at the same locations across all 3d prints. When i loked closer, i noticed oil and dirt in those exact places. I'm gonna clean the bed when i wake up tomorrow and I'll update you guys.

  6. Had 2 printers and both left a bad taste in my mouth, the tech of FDM just sucks. If I get another will go resin. I like FDM to ink jet printer you are always having to fix something.

  7. Its stupid to not put your p.l.a. back in the paper box it game whit.
Why wel paper wil take water first.
Before the p.l.a. sucks up the water 😮yeah.
    Carton box.
    Just put in there.
    And your p.l.a.
    Stays save.
    No need fore filliment dryer.

  8. So how do you level the tray and nozzle??
I'm literally brand new to 3D printing and the test boat model doesn't flatten at the bottom but will stay printing fine until it gets to the top of the roof ☹️

  9. Weird stuff happens… when I moved my printer to a different room, I had to recalibrate every other day… after a week or two I walked in on my cat sitting on the heat bed, enjoying the heat, playing with the filament. I now know why he enjoyed sitting next to me while I tinker on it… my printer became… one of his things. I bet in his mind he was quite happy I spend so much time on 'his' stuff. Needless to say, I'm working on an enclosure. So yea… stuff happens to your printer you might not be aware off.

  10. Thank you for this video! My ender 3 fan has been making that noise for quite some time now and I have been debating on replacing it just for a quietness sake, I am glad that I watched this because now I know that its a necessity!

  11. Thank you for this video! It helped me immensely already. My wife got me an Entina Tina2 printer bundle after I looked it up, and after half joking about me learning to 3D print things to join her selling at craft shows (she crochets, AKA 3D prints with yarn), she said "that's it, we're getting it" and purchased it.

It's done fun little things and I learned through some misprints and growing pains, but I am glad you brought up the fan on the heatbreak. My fan is making that noise right now, and I've also been having trouble with builds not sticking to the build plate. Admittedly, the surface of it is covered in what feels like the back of some masking tape. I also kept forgetting it was a magnetic attachment and was probably unleveling my bed by yoinking or scraping prints from the bed.

This information is critical for veterans and novices alike. Thanks so much!

  12. Thanks!!! new to 3D printing!!! was a gift from my boys!!! 2nd and 5th prints in the back part of the Owl glasses holder turned out really stringy and some of the layers didn't adhere well!!! MakerMark M5C!!! New sub!!!

  13. First layer perfect, following layers get worse and then perfect again … see perimeters bulging out and then going perfect again … im at the end of my ender tweaking career i guess …
